Ingredients

2 T. ghee or butter
-
1 onion, finely chopped

4 garlic cloves, minced

1 inch fresh ginger, minced

1 serrano chili, minced

1 T. coriander powder
-
1 teaspoon paprika
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
-
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
-
1 teaspoon garam masala
-
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
-
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
-
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

1 lb. ground beef, lamb or chicken
-
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
-
2 cup peas
-
½ cup cilantro, chopped for garnish
-
½ cup mint, chopped for garnish
Directions
Turn Instant Pot on Saute and add ghee and chopped onion and cook for 8-10 minutes or until the onion browns.
Next, add the garlic, ginger, chili, and dry spices to the pot. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the ground meat and cook until it is mostly browned. Add the diced tomatoes.
Lock the lid and make sure the steam valve is closed. Press the Bean/Chili button to begin the pressure cooking. It will automatically set for 30 minutes.
Let the pressure release naturally or use the quick release.
Open the pot and add the peas. Turn the pot to Saute and boil off any extra liquid. This may take 10-15 minutes.
Garnish with cilantro and mint and serve.
