There are many versions of shoofly pie. They are all very similar, but this is one is true to my childhood. It reminds me of the shoofly that my mom would bring home from the Reading Fairgrounds. The true Amish style shoofly pie. This pie uses table syrup (Schlorer’s Turkey Golden Table Syrup) and molasses, not just plain molasses, which is not the true flavor that the Amish use.
I am not kidding - this is the best! I have had enough people rave about this recipe to know it is a crowd pleaser.
