This recipe uses the oven to bake the cheese until you have a nice crispy crust. No need to fry to get that crispy crunch.

Ingredients
-
2 large eggs, slightly beaten
-
2 (8 oz) blocks halloumi cheese, cubed
-
1 cup Panko bread crumbs
-
1/2 cup parmesan, grated
-
3 T. sesame seeds
-
1/2 teaspoon paprika
-
pinch of black pepper
-
olive oil, drizzle
-
1/3 cup honey
-
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (less if you want less spice)
-
Pinch of sea salt
Spicy Honey
Directions
Preheat oven to 425° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, whisk eggs. In another bowl, combine the bread crumbs, parmesan, sesame seeds, paprika and pinch of pepper.
Drop each cube of halloumi into beaten eggs, then transfer to crumb mixture and toss to coat cubed cheese. Place cheese on prepared baking sheet.
Lightly drizzle the cubed cheese with olive oil. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Flip cheese and bake another 10-12 minutes until cubes look golden and crisp.
Finish with Spicy Honey
Combine the honey and red pepper flakes and a pinch of sea salt. Heat in the micowave for about 20 seconds or until the honey is heated.
Serve warm halloumi drizzled with some of the hot honey. Serve the remainder of the honey in a small bowl to dip the cheese bites. You can also use ketchup to dip or ranch dressing.
