Ingredients
-
2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
-
3 T. water
-
1-14oz can sweetened condensed milk
-
1 ⅓ cups heavy whipping cream
-
1 cup frozen passion fruit pulp (find in the freezer section at the grocery story)
-
Raspberries or blueberries to decorate
-
Pulp from two fresh passion fruit
-
¼ cup sugar
For the topping
Directions
Making the mousse
Mix the gelatin and water in a small microwaveable bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and cool slightly.
In a blender, add condensed milk, heavy cream, passion fruit pulp and gelatin. Blend for 5 minutes until you have a thick consistency.
Pour the mousse into small serving size bowls or cups. Refrigerate at least 3 hours to set.
Top with passion fruit sauce and seasonal fruit and serve.
For the topping
Combine the fresh passion fruit pulp and sugar in a small saucepan. Cook until the sugar dissolves and mixture boils. Lower heat and cook for 1-2 minutes longer or until it thickens slightly. Let the sauce cool before topping the mousse.
Recipe Note
You do not have to use gelatin in the recipe but it does help it to set faster. If you do not use gelatin, double the resting time to 6 hours.
I find frozen cubes of passion fruit at my local grocery store with all the other frozen fruit.
