Apple pie with caramel drizzle

Ingredients

1 whole pie crust

6-7 cups apples (variety of Granny Smith and Crisp works well), peeled and sliced

1/4 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed

1/2 cup sugar

4 T. flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup flour

3/4 cup butter (1 1/2 sticks)

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup quick oats
-
1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup pecans, chopped

1/2 jar caramel topping
Topping
Directions
In a bowl, mix apples, lemon juice, sugar, flour and salt. Toss to combine.
Topping
Cut the butter into the flour with a pastry cutter, then add brown sugar, oats and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Putting together
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a pie dish lined with pie crust, add apples and top with crumb topping. Cover crust edges with aluminum foil. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil from crust and place back in the oven for another 30 minutes.
Sprinkle chopped pecans when there are five minutes remaining. Finish baking.
Remove from oven and drizzle with caramel.
Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
