You don't need to say Chai Tea because Chai means "tea" - so if you say Chai Tea - you are really saying Tea Tea.

Ingredients
-
2 teaspoons loose leaf black tea
-
2 cups water
-
1 teaspoon chai masala
-
lemongrass, if available
-
1 inch piece ginger, sliced
-
1 piece cinnamon stick
-
1/2 - 1 cup milk, depending on how you like it
-
If you dont have chai masala, you can substitute: add small piece of cinnamon stick, 4 cloves, 4 cardamom pods
Directions
Add tea, water, chai masala to a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
Add sliced ginger, cinnamon stick and milk and bring to second boil.
Strain and enjoy! Serve with sugar or agave syrup.
Recipe Note
If you are not using chai masala, add the cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom during the first boil.
Another great addition is lemongrass. Cut the lemon grass including the leaves, if you have them, into the mixture in the first step. The mild flavor of the lemongrass is so nice in your chai.
